Classic ASP – Installing IIS in Windows 8

Windows 8 comes with Internet Information Server (IIS) but by default this feature is disabled in Control Panel.

To enable this service follow the below steps:

1. Go to Control Panel

2. Search for “turn windows” and you will see the below screen, click “Turn Windows features on or off“:

3. A popup will appear, look for “Internet Information Services” and enable the required features as shown in the below screen:

4. After clicking OK button your computer will install the IIS components and ask you to restart the computer, after you restarted, you can check if the IIS installed successfully by searching for “IIS”

Now as usual you can put all your codes in the C:/inetpub folder to start developing ASP websites.
