This trick works only on few phones not all Android Phones.
Phone: Xolo Q800
OS: Android JellyBean 1.4.2
All you have to do is press the
Power Button + Volume Down Button – Same time
Screen shot will be store in the Memory card automatically. You can see the screen shots in Gallery.
Exact path would be SDCard/Pictures/Screenshots

I have tried so many times for screen shot but as u said not done give some solution I have also updated it to 4.2.1 jellybean of 179 mb file then also not doing

You have to keep pressing the power button then the simultaneously press the volume down button

First press and hold the power button and press the volume down key. Holding the power key and volume down key simultaneously will not give a screenshot.

Yes it working fine with my XOLO q800 x-edition . try preseeing both lower volume key+power button

I also tried different methods but nothing worked.
How to do it :
Click and hold the power button for just 0.5 second and then after 0.5 second don’t release it but press volume down button. Now don’t release both button for another 0.5 second. You will get the sound and a visible screenshot saying Saving…
Tested on Xolo Q 800 X-Edition
